Hidden Ireland About Us

About Us

Hidden Ireland is a unique organisation offering the more adventurous visitor a chance to sample traditional hospitality and excellent food in a way not usually experienced by the average tourist.

Tourism board approved, our houses are not just hotels or guest houses. They are houses of architectural character and merit with owners who have time to talk to you and take care of you,  the result of their gracious care is that everyone feels special when staying in a Hidden Ireland house.

Some are great houses, at the centre of large estates , which have been owned by the same family for generations.  Others are smaller country homes but no less beautiful or interesting, while others are fine historic Town Houses.

What unites them is the wonderful atmosphere, character and comfort of each, and the fact that they are all owner managed

It is best to book in advance by phone, email or directly via the houses’ individual "micro page" on this site.

Contacting the houses can be done in these three sections of the Hidden Ireland site:

Country House Bed and Breakfasts

Exlusive Country House Rentals

Cottages and Gate Lodges

Click on any of the links above and then check out the many image links on the page(s)

You will normally need to secure the reservation with a credit card. Cancellation policies vary so be sure to check each house’s cancellation policy at the time of booking.

Check-in times also vary but guests are usually encouraged to arrive mid to late afternoon. Be sure to let your hosts know if you will be arriving unusually early or late. It is also a good idea to confirm if you will arrive in time for dinner on the first day.

Prices & Payment

Prices shown are per room per night (inclusive of tax) and include a Full Irish breakfast. Supplements normally apply for single room occupancy. Many houses offer special packages for stays of two or more nights. Payment may be made by credit/debit card, unless otherwise indicated.

Some houses welcome children and these are indicated in their entry.

Their experience will be magical with gardens to get lost in, woods to explore, eggs to collect, animals to pet, and often other children to play with. Early children’s dinners are usually offered in these houses and extra beds are available at reduced rates.

Babysitting services are available upon request.
